A Wildflowers Beauty Guide to Calm, Hydrated, Glowing Skin

Summer arrives gently — longer days, warmer air, and that soft sense of expansion that always seems to settle in this season. But while we welcome the sunshine, our skin often feels the shift more quickly than we do.
Heat, UV exposure, humidity and increased time outdoors all change what the skin needs. So here is a calm, nurturing guide to supporting your skin through the warmer months, written with the same intention I bring to every treatment room moment.
☀️ 1. Begin With Daily SPF
Daily_SPF_basics SPF is the single most important step in your skin routine, all year round regardless of your age. UV exposure is responsible for most premature ageing, pigmentation changes and dehydration — even on cloudy days.
Choose a broad‑spectrum SPF 30–50 and apply it every morning after your moisturiser. Don't forget to re-apply it every few hours as sweat etc will wipe it away. SPF cream is thick, thicker than moisturisers and can clog your pores so do not skip double cleansing your skin at night.
💧 2. Hydration Is Everything
Skin_hydration_basics Warm weather increases moisture loss from the skin, which can lead to tightness, dullness or unexpected oiliness.
Look for humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, and pair them with a light moisturiser to lock hydration in. Hydrated skin is calm skin — and calm skin glows.
🌸 3. Lighten Your Textures
Summer_skin_routine As temperatures rise, your skin often prefers lighter, more breathable formulas. Gel moisturisers, fluid serums and gentle cleansers help maintain balance without overwhelming the barrier.
You don’t need more products in summer — just the right ones.
🌿 4. Support Your Skin Barrier
Skin_barrier_support Heat, sweat and SPF can all place extra stress on the barrier. A strong barrier keeps your skin resilient, hydrated and less reactive.
Focus on:
ceramides
fatty acids
gentle cleansing
consistent hydration
Your barrier is your skin’s foundation — treat it kindly.
✨ 5. Gentle Exfoliation (Not More Exfoliation)
Safe_exfoliation A light exfoliant once or twice a week helps prevent congestion and keeps the complexion bright. But summer is not the time for aggressive exfoliation unless guided professionally.
Think refinement, not resurfacing. Use enzymes to gently exfoliate your skin.
💦 6. Keep facials in Your Routine
Facials are great all year round - tailored care foe your skin. They are:
deeply hydrating
gentle on the barrier
instantly brightening
suitable for all skin types
perfect before holidays or events
I’m continuing the Hydrofacial offer because the results are consistently beautiful, comfortable and confidence‑boosting.
🌸 7. Listen to Your Skin
Your skin communicates with you. If it feels tight, oily, flushed or reactive, it’s asking for a shift — not a punishment.
Small adjustments can make a world of difference: a lighter moisturiser, a gentler cleanser, a little more hydration, a little less exfoliation.
Summer skin thrives on balance.
🌿 A Final Note
Your skin doesn’t need perfection — it needs presence. A moment of attention. A little consistency. A routine that feels like care rather than pressure.
If you’re unsure what your skin needs this season, or you’d like a treatment plan tailored to your skin’s summer rhythm, you’re always welcome to reach out.
Your skin is unique. Your routine should be too
