Timing Your Skincare Routine for Maximum Effectiveness

Now that you understand what your skin type is, your concerns, the products - does the order of product placement matter?
Yes it does. Each product does a different job and has a different viscosity and will/won't allow other products to be absorbed into the skin. If you've invested in skincare products, you want them to do the intended job. They can't if they have been placed on your skin in the wrong order as they won't be able to access the skin. The morning routine, prepares and protects your skin for the day time and your evening routine, soothes and restores your skin.
Our skin is our largest organ and it is working 24hours a day. We use different products day and night because our skin has different funstions over 24hours. To make the most of your products apply them at the right time in the right order

Here is a morning skincare order (please check this against your age so you use the correct products):
Wash face thoroughly
Cleanse skin
Acids
Serum (water based first then oil)
Eye cream
Hyaluronic spray/toner
Facial oil
Moisturiser
Sun cream
Here is an evening skincare order:
Wash face thoroughly
1st cleanse
2nd cleanse
Acids
Eye cream
Serum or Vitamin A
Moisturiser
It does become second nature and doesn't take a lot of time. You may want different products for different seasons as your skin needs change with our environment. Face masques once a week is a benefit but not a necessity for a good skin care routine. The little eye pad masques are not a necessity but a value add to reduce tiredness/puffiness signs around the eyes.

A good skincare routine helps your skin, whatever your age but it will not change the structure of your face. This is when you look at injectables. You can have filler which plumps up your hollow areas on your face but if you don't have good skincare, then it won't change the appearance of your skin - it will still look dull, dehydrated etc So before investing in these treatments, make sure you have the skin care basics down so you can achieve maximum results.
Here is a rough guide to how much product you should be applying:

I hope this has given you more understanding of your skin care routine. Please message me any questions and if you're ready to start taking your skin care to the next level then please book in a consultation or a facial.
