Your Appointment

Wildflowers Colour & Style is a private, appointment‑only space, so all sessions are booked in advance. Please arrive at your scheduled time, as I don’t have a waiting area within the residence.

You’re welcome to park on the driveway or on the street. When you arrive, come through the back gate into the garden — the studio will be just in front of you.

As this is a small, peaceful studio, I can only accommodate one client at a time. A carer  is always welcome, please let me know they are attending, but for comfort and safety this environment isn’t suitable for children.

Please note: The pathway to the studio is uneven and not accessible by wheelchair. The toilet is located within the property, which has steps.

Who can have a Colour Analysis?

Colour analysis is suitable for almost everyone, and I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to attend the appointment with you.

Because children’s colouring can change quickly as they grow, I generally recommend waiting until around 15+ for the most accurate and lasting results. Our actual colouring settles around age 20.

For teens, colour analysis can make a wonderful and confidence‑boosting gift for a special occasion — such as a prom, Sweet 16, or another milestone celebration.

How often do you need your colours analysed?

Most people only need their colours analysed once, but there are moments in life when a refresh can be really valuable. Colouring can shift subtly over time, especially around milestone birthdays, hormonal changes, or big life transitions.

If you ever feel that your colours no longer align with who you are, or you sense a change in how certain shades sit against your skin, it may be the perfect time to revisit your palette.

Ultimately, colour analysis should support the person you’re becoming — so if something feels different, that’s your sign.

What's the difference between in person and AI?

AI tools can offer a fun introduction to colour, but they can’t replace the accuracy, nuance or personal guidance of an in‑person analysis. Most AI systems rely on a single photo, which can be affected by lighting, filters, camera quality and even the colour of the clothes you’re wearing. This often leads to inconsistent or incorrect results.

A professional colour analysis is completely different. It’s done in controlled lighting, using calibrated drapes, and guided by trained eyes that can see the subtle shifts in your skin tone, contrast and natural colouring. It’s also a conversation — we explore how you want to feel, how you show up in the world, and how colour can support your identity and lifestyle.

AI can give you a guess. A personalised session gives you clarity, confidence and a palette that truly reflects you.

I've had colour analysis before and was told I was 'Clear' how does that differ from your 16 sub-season method?

“Clear” is a term from older colour tonal analysis system, they look at your dominant characteristic (Clear, cool, light, deep, muted). Other older methods include the 4‑season (spring, summer, autumn, winter) or 12‑season method  (3 variations of the 4 season method).

It typically describes someone with high contrast colouring — bright eyes, clear skin tone and a look that suits vivid, saturated colours.

In the 16‑subseason system, this idea still exists, but it’s refined into more specific categories. Instead of one broad label like “Clear,” we look at:

  • Your undertone (warm, cool or neutral)

  • Your depth (light, medium or deep)

  • Your clarity (clear/bright vs soft/muted)

  • Your contrast level

  • How your colouring behaves across a wider range of drapes

This means that someone who was previously told they are “Clear” might now fall into one of several more precise sub-seasons, such as:

  • Bright Spring

  • Bright Winter

  • Clear‑leaning Light Spring

  • Clear‑leaning Cool Winter

The 16‑subseason method simply gives you more accuracy, more nuance and a palette that feels more personal.

So your previous result isn’t wrong — it’s just a broader category. The updated system helps us pinpoint your colours with far more clarity and confidence.

How should I turn up to the appointment?

For the most accurate and enjoyable experience, please arrive with minimal or no makeup, as even light products can influence how colours reflect on your skin. Keep your hair away from your face, and avoid anything that casts colour — such as bright scarves, bold jewellery or high‑neck tops. A simple, neutral top is ideal, as the drapes will sit around your shoulders and neckline.

Most importantly, come feeling comfortable and relaxed. Your appointment is a calm, nurturing space designed to help you feel seen, supported and excited about discovering your colours.

How can I pay?

You can pay by bank transfer, cash, or card during your appointment.

Will there be things to buy during the appointment?

There’s absolutely no pressure to buy anything during or after your appointment — no awkward add‑ons, no sales talk, and nothing icky. Your session is about clarity, confidence and feeling supported, not being sold to.

If you’d like to take something home, you’re welcome to purchase:

  • an upgraded fabric swatch book

  • a small selection of Avon makeup

These are completely optional and only there if you feel they’d be helpful as you start using your colours day‑to‑day.
